Wedding Ceremony & Drinks Reception Music | Ballymagarvey Village, Co. Meath

It was such a pleasure to provide the live music for Lisa and Karen's wedding at Ballymagarvey Village in County Meath, from the special moments of their wedding ceremony right through to the celebrations at their drinks reception.

Ballymagarvey Village is a beautiful setting for a wedding, with its relaxed country-house atmosphere making it particularly lovely for live music. Lisa and Karen chose both ceremony music and pre-dinner drinks reception music, allowing the music to flow with them from the ceremony into the celebrations afterwards.

Their Wedding Ceremony Music

Lisa and Karen chose a selection of songs that felt personal to them and worked beautifully throughout their ceremony.

Their ceremony soundtrack included:

  • Entrance: Feels Like Home - Chantal Kreviazuk

  • During the Ceremony: La Vie En Rose - Edith Piaf

  • Signing of the Register: Always Remember Us This Way - Lady Gaga

  • Exit: This Will Be An Everlasting Love - Natalie Cole

I love working with couples to create a ceremony soundtrack that feels like them. Some arrive with every song already chosen, while others need a little help finding music for the different moments of the ceremony. Either way, the end result should always feel personal rather than like a standard wedding set list.

From the Ceremony to the Drinks Reception

After the ceremony, the celebrations continued at Ballymagarvey Village, where I also performed for Lisa and Karen's pre-dinner drinks reception.

The atmosphere changes completely at this point in the day. The emotional part is over, the photos and congratulations begin, and everyone is ready to relax and celebrate. For drinks receptions, I move into a more upbeat mix of acoustic favourites, soul, pop and familiar classics, creating a warm backdrop while guests mingle before dinner.

Choosing both ceremony and drinks reception music also means there's a lovely continuity to the day, with live music carrying the atmosphere from the ceremony straight into the celebrations.
